Women in Country Music: Songs and Conversations

Join us for a night of country music and conversation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, at the Two Mississippi Museums. Inspired by the The World of Marty Stuart special exhibit, the program will feature country performers from Mississippi who will share their musical inspirations and favorite artists and perform a few songs.

To commemorate the 208th anniversary of Mississippi’s admission as the twentieth state in the Union, education staff from the Two Mississippi Museums will host free flash tours at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, in the Museum of Mississippi History.

At noon on Wednesday, December 10, historian Justin Randolph will present “Mississippi Law: Policing and Reform in America’s Jim Crow Countryside” as part of the History Is Lunch series. Randolph will explore how law enforcement shaped life in the segregated South

Join us for the Possum Ridge: Paint a Train workshop at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at the Two Mississippi Museums. This family-friendly event will allow for visitors to assemble and paint a model train after a guided tour highlighting key features of the exhibit on display through December 31.
