Mississippi Made - Created Here, Shared Everywhere - Opens March 7

A Temporary Exhibit at the Two Mississippi Museums

March 7-November 6, 2026

Welcome to Mississippi Made, a special exhibit of the Two Mississippi Museums presented in celebration of America 250.

Featured here are artifacts that reflect Mississippi’s contributions to the American story. Through these objects, we celebrate the entrepreneurs, innovators, performers, and craftspeople who made—and make—Mississippi.

Well known for its turbulent history, Mississippi is also distinguished by its monumental impact on literature and music. Mississippi Made demonstrates that Mississippi’s influence stretches beyond these narrow narratives—to innovation, industry, arts, and entertainment. From groundbreaking advances in space exploration and medical science to agriculture to business, Mississippi has left a lasting mark on the world.

The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is proud to present a selection of artifacts that showcase our extraordinary state and culture.
