Join Tougaloo College Saturday, February 8 at 1 p.m. for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) & Grassroots Organizing: Organizing Tradition Workshop that is a part of the SNCC & Grassroots Organizing Discussion Series. In this interactive learning toolkit workshop, participants will dig into exciting SNCC documents and audiovisual materials, learn about the organizing tradition in SNCC’s movement building, and collectively explore how those lessons are relevant today. This workshop is geared toward educators, civic organizations, community or activist groups, librarians, youth, or any interested participants. At noon Wednesday, November 12, author Jere Nash will discuss his book, Reconstruction in Mississippi, 1862-1877, a detailed and comprehensive history of the period following the Civil War, as part of the History Is Lunch series. This program will take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums.
