History Is Lunch: Leslie-Burl McLemore, “Freedom Summer: A Personal Odyssey"

At noon on Wednesday, July 10, Leslie-Burl McLemore will present "Freedom Summer: A Personal Odyssey," as part of the History Is Lunch series. The program will take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum building and stream live on the MDAH Facebook page and YouTube channel. At noon on Wednesday, April 29, Alex Heard, editorial director of Outside magazine, will reexamine the lasting mysteries surrounding the case of Willie McGee as part of the History Is Lunch series. In 1945, McGee was sentenced to death, prompting national protests at the White House.
