History Is Lunch: Hasan Kwame Jeffries, “(Mis)Remembering the Past: From Slavery to Civil Rights"

At noon on Wednesday, December 4, Hasan Kwame Jeffries will present “(Mis)Remembering the Past: From Slavery to Civil Rights” as part of the History Is Lunch series. The program will take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum building and stream live on the MDAH Facebook page and YouTube channel. Book sales and signing to follow. This program is financially assisted by the National Endowment for the Humanities through the Mississippi Humanities Council.

At noon on Wednesday, April 29, Alex Heard, editorial director of Outside magazine, will reexamine the lasting mysteries surrounding the case of Willie McGee as part of the History Is Lunch series. In 1945, McGee was sentenced to death, prompting national protests at the White House.
