Join us at the Two Mississippi Museums to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 19, for the MLK Celebration free weekend sponsored by FedEx. As part of the MLK Night of Culture, Carmen Washington will perform and Amanda Furge will host artistic performances by invited guests at 6 p.m., followed by a theatrical performance by Meridian High School. The play, “A Carefully Calculated Murder,” is based on the true story of the June 1964 murders of three civil rights workers: James Chaney, Michael Schwerner, and Andrew Goodman. This program will take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium. For more information on the extended MLK Weekend Celebration, click here.
Join us for History Happy Hour on Thursday, July 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. with food from Iron Horse Grill, a cash bar, Nissan vehicles to explore, and Phillip Rollins (aka DJ Young Venom) spinning a curated selection of vinyl records at the Two Mississippi Museums. This free event will include an interactive trivia game
