Join us for the annual MLK Night of Culture at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. Hosted by local Jackson artist 5th Child, this year's theme honors the 60th anniversary of Freedom Summer. Artists will perform original pieces centered on freedom, voting rights, and education. This program is free and open to the public. FedEx is sponsoring free admission to the Two Mississippi Museums on Saturday, February 17.
At noon on Wednesday, May 20, Jeff Giambrone, historian at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, will discuss Civil War firearms and artillery used by both Union and Confederate soldiers as part of the History Is Lunch series. Giambrone will share firsthand accounts from soldiers on both sides during the siege of Vicksburg.
