Mississippi Made Gallery Talk: Innovation

Join us for the Mississippi Made gallery talk at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, in the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Exhibition Hall at the Two Mississippi Museums. In connection with America250, this free event will highlight the role innovation has played in the state’s history. Nissan specialist Jake Garner will discuss the evolution of automobile manufacturing and the innovations the Canton Nissan plant has incorporated to meet the changing demands of the automobile industry. At noon on Wednesday, May 13, Josh Foreman, journalism professor at Mississippi State University, and Ryan Starrett, teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School, will explore the rise and fall of John Blommart during the American Revolution as part of the History Is Lunch series. John Blommart, a Royal Navy captain, led a failed rebellion against Spanish rule at Mount Locust in Natchez.
