Medgar Evers Free Day

In honor of Medgar Evers’ birthday, the Two Mississippi Museums will be free to the public thanks to the Foundation for the Mid South. Education staff from the Two Mississippi Museums will host flash tours at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Evers was a key civil rights activist and the first Mississippi field secretary for the National Association for the Advancement for Colored People. These sessions take place on June 8 –18 in the Pete Spiro Classroom at the Two Mississippi Museums.

Join us on Friday, June 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. for Juneteenth Jubilee at the Two Mississippi Museums. Sponsored by Ingalls Shipbuilding, this free, family-friendly event will celebrate community, culture, and the emancipation of Black Americans. Enjoy local food trucks, line-dancing workshops, a kids’ zone, an adults-only lounge, and Juneteenth-themed educational guides.
