Join us for Juneteenth Jubilee at the Two Mississippi Museums! Sponsored by Ingalls Shipbuilding, this evening program will celebrate Black empowerment and community, featuring a variety of activities in collaboration with Briarwood Arts Center. The festivity will include Juneteenth-themed crafts, card and yard games, Juneteenth-themed tours at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., a line dance workshop with Aaron Honeysuckle at 5:30 p.m., and performances by The Master's Touch DrumLine, LLC, Jasmine JT Thomas, Clifton Cotten, and the Anderson United Methodist Church youth dance ministry. At noon Wednesday, October 22, Jay Wesley, author of Choctaw Traditions: Stories of the Life and Customs of the Mississippi Choctaw, and Eddie Johnson, a tribal member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, will discuss a collection of stories from all nine Choctaw communities that captures the rich detail and complexity of Choctaw life as part of the History Is Lunch series.
