Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate Juneteenth at the Two Mississippi Museums! This free weekend, starting Thursday, June 19 and lasting through Sunday, June 22, is sponsored by Ingalls Shipbuilding and will include activities for students and families, performances with local talent, free Juneteenth-themed tours, and a Sunday Screening. At noon on Wednesday, July 1, Brother Rogers, retired historian for the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, will present his recent Journal of Mississippi History article, “Lafayette Visits Mississippi as the ‘Guest of the Nation,’” as part of the History Is Lunch series.

On Thursday, July 2, the United States District Court will hold a Naturalization Ceremony in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Twenty-one individuals will be naturalized.
