Fannie Lou Hamer Birthday Celebration

On Sunday, October 6, civil rights veteran Charles McLaurin will discuss the life and work of his friend Mrs. Fannie Lou Hamer in honor of her birthday. The program will begin at 1 p.m. and take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museum museums. Admission is free to the museums every Sunday. What began in 1965 as an experiment in early childhood education has grown into a nationwide program that today serves nearly 20,000 low-income children and families across Mississippi.
