Black History Month: The Mississippi Boychoir

Join us for The Mississippi Boychoir at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, in the lobby of the Two Mississippi Museums. The Mississippi Boychoir will perform songs, recite poems by Langston Hughes, and read short biographies of famous Black Mississippians. At noon Wednesday, October 22, Jay Wesley, author of Choctaw Traditions: Stories of the Life and Customs of the Mississippi Choctaw, and Eddie Johnson, a tribal member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, will discuss a collection of stories from all nine Choctaw communities that captures the rich detail and complexity of Choctaw life as part of the History Is Lunch series.

Join us for Trick or Treat and Day of the Dead at the Two Mississippi Museums on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Explore Mississippi’s history and Mexican heritage with our museum gallery guide, themed crafts and games, and a Dia de los Muertos cultural demonstration from members of the Mississippi Hispanic Association.
