Black History Month Family Day

Join us at 11 a.m. on Sunday, February 25, for Family Day at the Two Mississippi Museums. Families are invited to participate in hands-on art activities, craft stations, guided gallery experiences, and opportunities to explore stories of Black Mississippians featured in the museums as part of Black History Month programming. At noon Wednesday, October 22, Jay Wesley, author of Choctaw Traditions: Stories of the Life and Customs of the Mississippi Choctaw, and Eddie Johnson, a tribal member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, will discuss a collection of stories from all nine Choctaw communities that captures the rich detail and complexity of Choctaw life as part of the History Is Lunch series.

Join us for Trick or Treat and Day of the Dead at the Two Mississippi Museums on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Explore Mississippi’s history and Mexican heritage with our museum gallery guide, themed crafts and games, and a Dia de los Muertos cultural demonstration from members of the Mississippi Hispanic Association.
