The annual Possum Ridge model train exhibit will open at the Two Mississippi Museums on December 2. For more than 40 years, the model trains and the town of Possum Ridge have been a holiday tradition delighting both children and adults. The site depicts a typical Mississippi railroad town of the 1940s and has been growing and changing since its first year. Possum Ridge will close on December 31. For more information, call 601-576-6850 or email info@mdah.ms.gov.
Join us at noon on Wednesday, November 19, for History Is Lunch as teachers and students who helped lay the foundation for Head Start share their stories of the program’s early years. What began in 1965 as an experiment in early childhood education has grown into a nationwide program that today serves nearly 20,000 low-income children and families across Mississippi.
