At noon on Wednesday, August 26, Jasmine Holmes, director of museum education at the Two Mississippi Museums, will present her research on interviews conducted by employees of the Federal Writers’ Project of the Works Progress Administration as part of the History Is Lunch series. This collection, held at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, consists of typed and handwritten transcripts of interviews with formerly enslaved people from thirty-six Mississippi counties. The WPA narratives contain information such as names of family members, occupations, and other details of their lives. This free event will take place in the Craig H.
