MLK Night of Culture Open Call for Participation
The Two Mississippi Museums are seeking submissions for those that would like to perform spoken word, sing, or create an artistic piece for our annual MLK Night of Culture. This year’s theme is Black Empowerment and is inspired by the unity and determination of Black Mississippians demanding their civil rights in the late 1960s.
Selected artists will be invited to tour the museum and draw inspiration from the Black Empowerment gallery in the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. All pieces performed should adhere to this theme.
To apply, complete the following web form. The deadline for submissions is Friday, December 23, at 5 p.m.
Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee and all applicants will be notified no later than December 30. If you have any questions regarding the theme or about the program, call 601-576-6811.
